Love Notes

It is such a blessing  and an honor to be able to help moms bring life into this world.  Here are just a few notes from moms about their experience.

Maddie

"When I found out I was pregnant, my plan was to interview a few midwives in the area before deciding on one. My first (and only) meet and greet was with Angie. As my husband and I walked out of the birth clinic, we both agreed that she was the perfect fit. Angie has 10 of her own babies that she birthed in a variety of circumstances, which I found to be really comforting. It demonstrated that she was natural minded, but the health of mom and baby came before pride of personal home birth stats.

When it came to prenatal care, we felt completely supported: physically, emotionally, and even spiritually. I looked forward to every visit, not just to monitor baby, but also to visit and share with Angie all the changes that were happening in my body. It was also appreciated how willing and eager Angie was to research and collaborate on things that popped up that she wasn't certain about.
When the time came for the baby to be born, Angie was so attentive through it all. She prayed with us; she offered Sam coping strategies to help me manage the 26 hours of back labor; she sat in the dark with me offerings soft words of encouragement. When complications did arise (shoulder distocia), Angie was gentle and acted with confidence over the situation, which resulted in the birth of our beautiful, healthy baby girl.

The postpartum care was beyond what I could have expected. Miss Elizabeth and I each had our own struggles, and in the following 2 weeks after the birth, Angie came to our home at least 5 times. The ability to stay home was huge for us as our adjustment wasn't going quite as smooth as we had hoped.

Now, with Liza's shoulder distocia, tongue ties, failed latching, and jaundice and my hemorrhage, being forced to pump (which I was more scared of than labor itself) and A-symptomatic uterine infection, you might expect there to be some birth trauma, and initially, there was. It took me 6 weeks to open up to Angie about how I was really feeling, and I'm so glad I did. She opened up her notes from my birth, and we walked through my birth together. Hearing her describe it from her point of view was so helpful and healing. Angie referenced a story she had read about the analogy of a beaded necklace to birth storied. I found what she was referring to: "Imagine the necklace is broken open and the beads disperse everywhere — under the couch, in the corner of the room, in the dog’s bowl… everywhere. It is difficult to appreciate the intricacy and beauty of the necklace when it is dispersed all over the ground. As we gather each unique bead in our hands, we begin to feel the weight and significance of the necklace. As we re-string the beads together, we can see and even feel the story that they create as a whole." Angie helped me find some of my missing beads, and now I proudly wear that repaired necklace. It isn't perfect, but it is beautiful and cherished.
Every decision that Angie made came down to her truly caring for me and my family. None of my story was necessarily easy, but that didn't make it any less good. I'm so thankful to have found a midwife that shared the same Foundation as Sam and me. 🙏 God has blessed us abundantly."

"Midwife Angie Boisen is truly amazing and I HIGHLY recommend her services to families that are wanting a homebirth or a birth at her birth center! Her love for her patients is evident in how she cares for them. Her intuition and skills are superb. We were so impressed. During the pregnancy, she is attentive to mom, dad and baby through education, open discussions about any concerns or fears they may have. She is creative in her approach to helping the mom prepare her body and mind for a healthy, safe delivery with supplements, exercises, education and herbs and tinctures.

During labor, Midwife Angie is creative as she encourages the mom to try a new approach or different position and is always looking at what's best for mom and baby as the mother labors. She has a team approach to delivery and the postpartum care that makes the family feel so cared for.

Midwife Angie is incredibly dedicated to giving her patients the birth story they desire all while keeping an acute eye on AĹL of the details to keep everyone healthy and safe to deliver one of God's miracles! If I could give her a 10-start review I would. Midwife Angie, I am in awe of you with a heart full of gratitude, love and respect!!"

"II first met Angie when she was the birth assistant to the midwife who attended my first birth. She remained calm, cool, and collected during a traumatic experience, and I knew that if I had a second baby I want her as my midwife. Three years later I'm pregnant with my second baby and my husband and I went with Angie. We are so happy we did. She provided a wonderful prenatal experience - very detailed, calm, understanding and most importantly I felt heard and acknowledged. She provided excellent support when I went into labor - it was the redeeming birth I was hoping for, and we couldn't have done it without her. Her postpartum support has been just as wonderful as every other step of this journey. She is always a call, text, or email away. I couldn't recommend Angie more, and if we decide to have baby #3 we will definitely be working with Angie again!"

Alexis

"I am beyond grateful to have found Midwife Angie to deliver our second baby! She is so easy going and kind, when going to appointments it was like I was talking to a friend not just another Healthcare professional, when I had questions Angie had answers and everything done was explained. The birth center is just so elegant and relaxing, making labor and delivery so peaceful!
Postpartum care was phenomenal also, you didn't just get a rushed appointment that you had to be on time for. Angie is able to come to your first few visits so you can relax and get into a routine with your bundle of joy!
All in all I am so happy with my experience and I recommend anyone to call and meet Angie, you will love her!"

"We love Angie so so much!!! She helped all of our home birth dreams come true! She was very level headed, kind, and informative when we asked questions about the safety of home birth. She put our minds and hearts at ease with her level of education, knowledge of statistics, safety protocols, and overall calm demeanor.
She makes preparing for birth stress free, and simple. Prenatal/postpartum care was the best I’ve ever had! She answered all my questions and was a sweet friend through the whole process! Almost makes me want to have more babies so we can walk through the whole thing with her again!"

"My experience with Midwife Angie was amazing! During my 6th pregnancy, I was looking for an out-of-hospital alternative. From the time I met her at our first consultation and all throughout my pregnancy, she was always so thoughtful and caring. She provided a relaxed environment so I rarely felt like I was at a prenatal appointment but more like sitting and visiting a friend. All our children love her too and enjoyed our appointments together. Even after we found out I was having twins, she continued to provide the care I needed and sought out other resources for me. She shared her knowledge and wisdom at a critical time when we needed to make decisions. Angie truly was a godsend and a huge answer to prayer. I wouldn't have wanted anyone else for my experience with twins. I highly recommend her services! I not only found a great midwife but also a valued friend."

Emily

"I could write a book on how amazing Angie is. She was perfect through my first pregnancy and delivery. She gives all the information and then supports you in whatever you decide. She puts a large emphasis on building a relationship which I find so important. She is everything this line of care should be from the informative prenatal appointments to the compassionate postpartum care. Angie is not only my midwife but also my friend, I highly recommend her."

Kayla

"Having been blessed to have Midwife Angie as the assistant midwife for a few of our past births- when we found out we were expecting baby #6, knew we needed her! Her wisdom and compassion is evident in all she does. Having experienced a more difficult labor previously, she kindly helped talk through all my emotions and fears. And so beautifully helped me prepare my mind and plan for a new postpartum season. Come time for birth, when labor stalled out, Angie helped me trust our baby and my body, while also encouraging me with things we could do to help labor along if we wanted. It was such a beautiful, peace filled experience. Our whole family loves Midwife Angie- so grateful for her in our lives!!" -- Kayla

Rochelle

"I am blessed! Yesterday we had our 6-week checkup with our fabulous midwife, Angie Kay Midwife Angie! We’ve had great medical care with our pregnancies but this was the first pregnancy we were undeniably cared for and genuinely LOVED by Miss Angie and her team. Even the kids loved seeing her. Titus hid behind the couch yesterday while we were meeting and would pop up and say, “Hi Angie!” I am so grateful that we decided on a home birth so that the kids could be involved this time. I truly regret not having one sooner. This was an amazing experience for our family." ~ Rochelle

Angel

"We will be forever grateful for the thoughtful care we received from you both during pregnancy, delivery, and even now. Such empathy from a midwife can only come from one who has been through labor so many times herself.  Not only were you knowledgeable and open-minded, you always took the time to carefully research any questions I might have before giving a conclusive response. In addition, you always made Ashlyn feel a part of the process at each appointment by allowing her to help; she was always so excited to "go see the doctor" and still asks to do so.  You are such a blessing to all those you serve." ~ Angel
